If you’re not feeling well, it can be hard to know when it’s time to call the doctor. Many viral and bacterial illnesses have similar symptoms. Often, these illnesses clear up on their own. But the flu can cause serious complications.
Flu symptoms include:
- Fever over 100.4° F
- Aching muscles
- Chills and sweats
- Headache
- Fatigue
- Dry cough
- Sore throat
Cold and flu symptoms often seem similar, but flu symptoms are much worse. They usually last longer. If you have a cold, you might feel better after a few days. But if you have the flu, you might feel sick for weeks.
